Yunus’s report on Bangladesh’s anarchy is public. 1400 people died in political unrest in Bangladesh, UN report says.

This is not an allegation floating in the air, but a horrific report on minority oppression in Bangladesh has come to light with solid evidence. After the overthrow of the Hasina government in Bangladesh on August 5 last year, militants led by Yunus have been at it tooth and nail. The minority Hindus of that country are facing the wrath of these religious fundamentalists. According to the report, in just 5 months, 32 Hindus have been murdered in Bangladesh. 13 minority women have been raped and gang-raped. Not only that, the places of worship of minorities have been damaged. 133 temples have been destroyed. The most surprising thing is that Yunus’ administration is turning a blind eye to these continuous incidents.

This sensational report on the persecution of minorities in Bangladesh has recently been made public by the Bangladesh Hindu, Buddhist, and Christian Unity Council. According to their report, the most incidents of communal violence occurred between August 4 and December 31 last year. According to the report, 2,010 incidents of communal violence occurred within just 15 days of the change of government. Even under pressure, the Bangladesh government admitted that they had found evidence of 1,769 incidents. A case was also initiated. However, there was no special activity on the part of the government in that case.

Minority Council Secretary General M. K. Nath said that this report has been prepared in two phases. The first phase is from August 4 to August 20. The most number of attacks occurred during this period after the change of government. The police administration was also completely inactive during this period. The second phase of the report is from August 20 to December 31. During this period, Yunus’ advisory government came to power. However, the attacks on minorities did not come under much control. Within the first 15 days, 9 minorities were murdered, 4 raped and 915 houses were attacked. 953 shops were vandalized. 69 temples were vandalized.

After the formation of the advisory government on August 20, power in Bangladesh passed to Yunus. However, this picture did not change much. In the next four months, 64 temples were attacked, including 23 murders and 9 rapes. At this time, the minorities there were in a state of panic. Far from handling the situation, this incident was called an expression of the political anger of the people. Not only that, minorities were arrested and tortured by the government. Minorities in government jobs were forced to resign.

Along with the report of the Minority Committee, a United Nations report was released on Wednesday (February 12, 2025). It claims that 1,400 people have been killed in Bangladesh’s political unrest in the past year. Most of the deaths have been in firing by security forces. Since Hasina’s departure, minorities have been subjected to brutal torture. Their shops and places of worship have been vandalized. This has had the greatest impact on rural areas. Thakurgram, Lalmonirhat, Dinajpur, Sylhet, Khulna and Rangpur were the most affected. Source-sangbadpratidin.in.
