
In the last 48 hours, at least 4 temples in Mymensingh, Dinajpur, and Natore districts have been attacked. 8 Murti have been vandalized. There has been a robbery at the Natore crematorium. A young temple serviceman, Tarun Chandra Das, has also been killed. It is learned that miscreants vandalized two Murtis of the Banderpara temple in the Shakuai area of Haluaghat upazila of Mymensingh district on Thursday and Friday. The idol (Murti) of the Palashkanda Kali temple in the Bildora area was also attacked. The head of this temple, Subhash Chandra Sarkar, filed a complaint with the police station. After that, the police started searching for the attackers. Haluaghat police station OC Abul Khair said that a local youth named Alauddin has been arrested in connection with the vandalism of the temple.
The attack was also carried out at the Jharbari Crematorium Kali Temple in Birganj upazila of Dinajpur district. It is alleged that 5 idols were vandalized there. Local Hindus are terrified by this incident. Temple committee president Janardan Roy said that such an incident has never happened before. Locals claim that the miscreants were shouting anti-ISKCON slogans while vandalizing the temple. As a result, concerns have increased again as 3 temples have been attacked in the last 48 hours.
Meanwhile, a robbery incident took place at Kashimpur Central Crematorium in Baraharishpur of Natore Sadar Upazila. A servant there, Tarun Chandra Das, was also killed. The temple was looted. Police believe that the incident took place on Friday (December 20) night. The deceased, Tarun Chandra Das (55), is the son of the deceased Kalipada Das of Alaipur Dhopapara Mohalla in Natore city.
