A man named Bhavesh Chandra Roy (52) was allegedly kidnapped from his house in Biral Upazila of Dinajpur and beaten to death. On Thursday (April 18, 2025), he was rescued from a van sent by the kidnappers and taken to the hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. The deceased Bhavesh is the son of Late. Tarkananda Roy of Basudebpur village in Shohargram Union of the upazila.
According to local sources, a group of youths took Bhavesh Chandra Roy from his house around 5 pm that day. He was sent back in a van around 10 pm, in a lifeless condition. He was beaten and injured. After rescuing Bhavesh from the Phulbari Hat near his house, his relatives took him to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital. The doctor on duty there declared him dead.
Confirming the incident, Biral Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdus Chabur said that the police recovered the body of Bhavesh Chandra Roy last night. It was kept in the morgue for autopsy. The family of the deceased is preparing for the case. Information collected from somoynews.tv
