It has been alleged that assistant teacher Piyush Kanti Paul of Chittagong’s Patia Abdus Sobhan Rahat Ali High School was locked in the headmaster’s room and made to sign the resignation letter. In this incident, he made a general diary at Patia police station on Sunday (February 04, 2024) night. Shafiul Akhter (48), Rashed Hossain Khademi Prakash Bahar (50), Md. Nashir Uddin (48), Tawfiq Ibn Salam (49) and 10 to 12 other unidentified people have been accused.

In the general diary, teacher Piyush Kanti Paul mentioned that the school authorities decided to re-examine the students who failed in 5 to 8 subjects in last year’s annual examination. Teacher Piyush Kanti commented that the question papers prepared in the presence of the accused on the first day of the examination i.e. January 21 were difficult and the failed students would fail again. Because of this, the accused got angry and complained verbally against him to the headmaster. In view of which the headmaster of the school demanded a written apology from Piyush Kanti. However, despite later replying to it, Principal Piyush Kanti’s apology was not accepted. After this incident, the accused continued to threaten him in various ways to expel him from the school. On Sunday (February 4) morning, teacher Piyush Kanti went to the school Headmaster Mizanur Rahman’s office and requested him to settle the dispute with the accused. The headmaster said that he will sit with the accused and solve the matter in the afternoon.

According to the headmaster, he exchanged blows with the accused in the headmaster’s office around two o’clock on Sunday afternoon. At one stage the accused suddenly closed the door of the office and forced Piyush Kanti to sign the resignation letter prepared by them. This teacher was forced to sign the resignation letter out of fear. Later, the accused forced teacher Piyush to submit his handwritten resignation letter again. Desperate, fearing for his life, he was forced to submit his resignation letter. During this, the accused recorded the video on their mobile phones.

At one point the accused threatened this teacher. Informing someone about this incident or litigating a case will cause him great loss in time and opportunity. This teacher approached the law by making a general diary stating that he was suffering from insecurity.

In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patia Police Station Jasim Uddin said that Piyush Kanti, the assistant teacher of the school, made a general diary in the police station last night. Legal action will be taken subject to investigation. Source Sokalersomoy
