Three days after going missing from his business establishment in Kumarkhali, Kushtia, the dismembered body of a tailor owner named Binoy Biswas (58) belonging to the Hindu community was found in the morgue of Rajbari Sadar Hospital. Upon receiving the news, his relatives identified the body on Sunday afternoon, February 16, 2025. According to them, Binoy committed suicide by jumping under a train. The deceased Binoy is the son of Birendranath Biswas of Ward No. 2 of Kumarkhali Municipality and the proprietor of Anupam Tailors on Sonabandhu Road in the city.

During conversations with the police and relatives, it was learned that Binoy Biswas left his tailor shop on February 14 (Friday) afternoon. After that, when he did not return home or to the shop, his relatives searched for him in various possible places. Unable to find him, the relatives filed a general diary with Kumarkhali Police Station that night. And on Sunday afternoon, his two-part body was identified by the relatives at the Rajbari Sadar Hospital morgue.

Rajbari Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Asif Mohammad Siddiqul Islam said over the phone that when the Kushtia-bound shuttle train that left Daulatdia reached Pachuria Railway Station area around 4:30 pm on Saturday, an unknown person hit his head on the railway track and died after being cut in two. Later, the body was kept at the Rajbari Sadar Hospital morgue.

When asked, Binoy’s son-in-law Sumon Biswas said, “My father-in-law went to the shop last Friday and did not return home. After searching in various places, when he could not be found, a GD was filed with the police station that night. And when I went to the morgue of Rajbari Sadar Hospital, I saw the two-part body. As far as I heard, my father-in-law committed suicide by putting his head under a train. However, the reason for his suicide is not yet known. However, a close relative, who did not want to be named, said that he had been suffering from financial difficulties for several days. Sub-inspector Biplob Biswas of Kumarkhali Police Station said, the two-part body of the missing Binoy was found in the Rajbari morgue. The relatives have identified the body.
