    A complaint has been received about the theft of gold ornaments and idols (Pratima) from a temple in Sirajganj by breaking the lock. A written complaint has been filed with the police station in this incident. The incident took place at the Delua Shri Shri Ram Krishna Sevashram temple in the municipal town of Belkuchi upazila of the district sometime on Monday (January 27, 2025) night.

    On Tuesday (January 28) afternoon, Swapan Kumar Poddar, on behalf of the temple committee, said that the devotees locked the temple after worshipping at around 8 pm and left. In the morning, when they opened the lock in front of the temple and went inside, they found that the lock of the gate in the northeast corner was broken. Various Pratimas (idols), including gold ornaments on the temple Pratima (idol), had been stolen.

    He claimed that the temple suffered a loss of 1.5 lakh taka in the theft. Belkuchi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Zakeria Hossain said, “We have received the complaint. We will look into the matter and take legal action.” News source- ekattor.tv
