A mother and daughter went missing on their way back from coaching in Mirsarai, Chittagong. They have not been found even after 24 hours of the incident. However, the family claims that it was a kidnapping. The missing persons are Sangeeta Sutradhar (35), wife of Deepak Sutradhar, a resident of Ward No. 2 of Mirsarai Municipality, and their daughter Mithi Sutradhar (7). Mithi is a class 2 student of the local SM Government Primary School.
Family and witnesses said that on Wednesday (June 4, 2025) at around 8 pm, Sangeeta Sutradhar and her daughter Mithi left for home after finishing their coaching. When they reached Muktijoddha Complex on the north side of Mirsarai Police Station on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway, an unidentified woman stopped them. Later, the woman called them aside. After a while, the mother and daughter were seen being picked up in a black microbus.
Deepak Sutradhar said, “Like every day, my wife took my daughter to coaching. This incident happened on the way back. An eyewitness said, an unknown woman first stopped my wife. Then, before knew anything else, they were taken away in a black microbus. I have filed a general diary with Mirsarai police station (GD number: 181). I want to get my wife and daughter back.”
