Khulna University student Arnab Kumar Sarkar (28) was shot dead by miscreants. The incident took place at around 9:15 pm on Friday (January 24, 2025) in the Tetultala intersection area of the city.
Arnab is the son of Nitish Chandra Sarkar, a resident of house 45/3-Kha, Abu Ahmed Road, Sonadanga area of Khulna. He was a Master of Business Administration (MBA) student at Khulna University. His roll number is 230317.
Professor Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan, Head of the Faculty of Business Administration, Provost Professor Sharif Mohammad Khan and Director of Student Affairs Professor Dr. Md. Nazmus Sadat confirmed the authenticity of the information. Md. Ehsan Habib, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police, confirmed the authenticity of the information to The Daily Star.
Quoting eyewitnesses, he said, “Around 9:15 pm, miscreants shot Arnab in the Tetultala intersection area. He was shot in the head.” “When locals took him to Khulna City Medical College Hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead,” said Ehsan.
