
Police have recovered the body of a woman named Santoshi Bala Dasi (48) from a tobacco field in Mirpur, Kushtia. On Saturday (March 15, 2025) morning, the Mirpur Police recovered the body from a tobacco field under the house of Abdus Salam in Moshan village of Baruipara union of the upazila. Based on the information given by the locals, the body was recovered at the spot in the morning. The deceased Santoshi Bala Dasi is the wife of Jhantu Das of Rishi Para in Baruipara union (Mashan-Dhepahati-Ektarpur) area. The woman had been missing since the afternoon while picking leaves. The police believe that she was strangled to death. Baruipara Union Parishad member Jinnah Ali Khan said that on Friday afternoon, she left her house to a neighboring field to pick leaves. After that, she did not return and could not be found despite a search. In the morning, local farmers saw the body while breaking tobacco. However, the woman had a gold pendant in her ear. Drug addicts often hang out around the scene. Perhaps they knew someone to snatch the pendant. This murder could have happened.
Mirpur Police Station OC Mominul Islam said that his body was found in the middle of a tobacco field in the morning. Later, local people informed the police station.
