Police have not been able to rescue Trishna Rani Sarkar (16) even after almost three months of her abduction in Palashbari, Gaibandha. The helpless family members of the abducted girl have expressed their plea for their daughter’s return through a press conference. Trishna’s father Asim Chandra Sarkar and mother Bithi Rani pleaded for their daughter’s return at a press conference held at the Palashbari Press Club on Friday (January 24, 2025) afternoon.
At the press conference, they said that their home is in Amlagachhi village of Barisal Union in Palashbari upazila of Gaibandha. Their daughter Trishna Rani is a regular student of class 10 of the local Amlagachhi Dabir Uddin Girls High School and College. On the morning of November 11, 2024, while she was going to a private school from her home, the members of the kidnapping team, Kabir Hossain (27), son of Mintu Miah, resident of Beradanga village in Gobindaganj upazila of the district, Shihab (26), son of Abdul Gani, and Shahin Miah (26), son of Khoka Miah, abducted Trishna with their help.
Later, a case was filed at Palashbari Police Station against 5 people involved in the kidnapping. But even after almost 3 months, the police could not arrest anyone except the second accused in the case or rescue the abductee. They fear that the abductors have smuggled Trishna Rani abroad.
