An idol (Pratima) was vandalized at a temple in Battala, Baraitoli area of Kaliakoir, Gazipur. On Wednesday night, miscreants vandalized the idol (Pratima) and left it inside the temple. Locals said that the authorities locked the temple after the afternoon puja in Battala, Baraitoli area of Kaliakoir. Last night, miscreants climbed the gate and entered the temple and vandalized the idol.
Temple priest Sukumal Chakraborty said that he went to the temple in the morning after receiving the news of the idol (Pratima) being vandalized. He then informed the local administration and police. Upazila Executive Officer Kausar Ahmed and Kaliakoir Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Riyad Mahmud visited the spot after receiving the news.
