A case of looting and robbery has been reported at Kashimpur Central Crematorium in Boraharishpur, Natore Sadar Upazila. A young crematorium worker, Tarun Chandra Das, was also killed. Police believe the incident took place on Friday night (20, 2024). Natore Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbubur Rahman said, “The body of a man with his hands and feet tied was recovered from the crematorium. Some signs of looting of goods from the crematorium’s storeroom have been found. The person may have been killed over an incident of theft or robbery.” Satya Narayan Roy Tipu, general secretary of the crematorium committee, said, “The locks of the temple’s donation box and storeroom were broken and the grills were cut. It is possible that the robbers killed the young man and took away the temple’s money and brass utensils.”

He further said that on Saturday morning, when the members of the Mahasmashan temple went to the Bhog Ghar, they found the body of the servant Tarun with his hands and feet tied. Tarun had been in charge of the temple’s service for 23 years. The deceased Tarun Chandra Das is the son of the deceased Kalipada Das of Alaipur Dhopapara Mohalla in Natore city. He had lived in the Mahasmashan temple for almost two decades. Natore Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the matter. News Source dailyjanakantha
