A brutal robbery has taken place at a Hindu religious worship items shop called ‘Panchabati Shankha O Dharmika Bipani’ in Bejpara area of Jessore Sadar Upazila. On the night of Monday, January 27, 2025, a gang of thieves broke the lock of the shop and stole various worship items and cash from the shop.
Speaking to shop owner Ratan Rakshit, it was learned that he closed the shop at 10 pm on January 27 and went home. On Tuesday, January 28, at 7:30 am, he came to the shop and found that the door and lock of his shop were broken. When he entered the shop, he found that the goods in the shop had been looted.
Later, it was found that 60 kg of various brass idols, conch shells, puja equipment and cash were stolen from the shop. The estimated value of the stolen goods is over two lakh taka.
